Have Your Teeth Straightened Without Worrying About How You Look
There are very few people born with perfectly straight teeth and as a result, there aren’t too many who are entirely happy with their smiles. Avoiding smiling because of how your teeth look can have an impact on one’s entire demeanour and personality, in some cases it can shape their entire social calendar, when and where they go and who they choose to go with.
Metal braces are the treatment many quite rightly associate with teeth straightening. For many, the thought of wearing a standard metal brace is the main reason for not having the treatment. Visiting the dentist, sitting in the chair, waiting for a while in the waiting room all seem bearable, it is the thought of wearing the metal brace that puts them off.
Wearing a metal brace isn’t for everyone and if you have been putting off having your teeth straightened because of the thought of wearing a metal brace makes you feel a bit queasy then now is a great time to start looking at what other options are available. Modern dentistry has taken great leaps forward in recent years and there are now real alternatives.
One of the most popular alternatives to standard metal braces is lingual braces. Lingual braces are similar to traditional braces in that they use metal brackets and arch wires, the main difference is that the brackets are fixed to the back of the teeth and so are hidden. This does make adjustment times longer as they are not as easily accessible, but they are of course out of view which is of course their main advantage.
If you would prefer to avoid metal brackets, wires and everything else metal altogether then you could try clear invisible braces. These are braces that straighten teeth and close gaps between teeth just as a standard brace would, however, unlike a standard brace they don’t use arch wires. They are usually made using clear aligners which are custom made, but best of all they are clear and so hard to notice. They are removable too, great for hygiene and if there is an occasion such as a wedding or birthday party you can remove them before the cameras come out!
If you aren’t happy with your teeth and have longed to have them straightened but didn’t want anyone to know it could be worth going and speaking to your local orthodontist about more discreet treatments. They should be able to offer you advice about what will work best for you and outline the full extent to any treatment, giving you a clear picture of exactly what you can expect when the treatment has finished.
The Brace have an orthodontic practice in the city which caters for clients who wish to have invisible braces.
